Dr. Nicholas Hicks, DC
Hi, I'm a chiropractor born and raised in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Now back in Santa Cruz and San Jose, my mission is to help individuals move freely, ease chronic pain, and take charge of their health without the need for medications or high-pressure treatment plans.
My Story
Born and raised in Ben Lomond, I attended San Lorenzo Valley Highschool. I knew from early on that I wanted to use my hands to help people. So, I set out to expand my knowledge to achieve my goal.
Graduating from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, I honed my understanding of human kinetics and performance.
My collegiate journey was marked by participation in D1 athletics, competing in Cross Country and Track. This experience not only instilled in a drive for excellence but also a profound appreciation for the intricacies of the human body's biomechanics and ability to perform at higher levels. Continuing my pursuit of knowledge and service, I earned my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic - West, an institution nationally renowned for their high caliber graduates, where I developed my skills in chiropractic care and patient management.
Beyond academics, I served as President of both the Associated Student Government (ASG) and the Student Patient Education And Knowledge (SPEAK) club. In these roles, I demonstrated my commitment to empowering both my peers and the community with valuable insights into health and well-being.
During my chiropractic studies I participated in a clinical rotation at the VA; which focused on non-pharmacological pain management solutions and hospital-based care. This experience allowed me to work closely with veterans, addressing chronic pain through evidence based and holistic approaches such as chiropractic adjustments, exercises, and lifestyle modifications. My time at the VA reinforced my commitment to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care and highlighted the importance of integrating non-drug therapies in pain management.
Prior to my chiropractic studies, I gained practical experience in diverse roles as a running shoe sales associate, an eCommerce customer service manager, and a Physical Therapy Assistant. These experiences have provided me with invaluable insights into patient care, biomechanics, customer relations, and enriching his holistic approach to healthcare.
With my comprehensive background in kinesiology, athletic experience, leadership roles, and diverse work experience, I strive to make a significant impact in the field of chiropractic care, advocating for optimal health and wellness of all my patients.
